Helsingfors: Everywhere Afrin, everywhere resistance!

Turkey has waged a war in Afrin, northern Syria for over a month without any meaningful action from the international community. Afrin is one of the cantons in the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria and the autonomous region of Rojava. The barbaric acts of the Turkish army and the affiliated jihadist groups, such as the use of chemical weapons, the bombings of civilian targets and the destruction of cultural-historical sites must be strongly condemned. We demand the attention of the international community regarding this matter. The diplomatic support of Western countries, trade and any other cooperation with the occupying Turkish government must be terminated.

We want to show our support for the Kurdish forces of the YPG and the women's YPJ, the groups that are defending the society of Rojava and the Rojava revolution. There have been numerous demonstrations in support of Afrin in the last month and in support of Rojava in the last five years all around Europe as well as in Finland. If we want peace and democracy in the Middle East, we have to support the fight in Rojava. The democratic autonomy of Rojava allows the freedom of all Syrian people. Join us in supporting Rojava and Afrin to show that they are not alone in this fight!

Turkki on sotinut Pohjois-Syyrian Afrinissa jo toista kuukautta lähes ilman kansainvälisen yhteisön toimia. Afrin on yksi Pohjois-Syyrian demokraattisen federaation ja autonomisen Rojavan kantoneista. Turkin armeijan ja sen rinnalla taistelevien jihadistiryhmien barbaariset toimet, kuten kemiallisten aseiden käyttö, siviilikohteiden pommitukset ja kulttuurihistoriallisten kohteiden tuhoamiset, ovat äärimmäisen tuomittavia. Vaadimme kansainvälisen yhteisön huomiota asialle.

Länsimaiden diplomattinen tuki, kaupankäynti ja muu yhteistyö miehitysvaltio Turkin kanssa on lopetettava.Haluamme osoittaa tukemme kurdijoukoille YPG:lle ja naisten YPJ:lle, jotka puolustavat Rojavan vallankumouksen jälkeistä yhteiskuntaa. Alkuvuodesta kurdien tueksi on järjestetty mielenosoituksia on ympäri Eurooppaa, myös Suomessa. Jos Lähi-itään halutaan demokratiaa ja rauhaa, on tuettava Rojavan kamppailua. Rojavan demokraattinen autonomia mahdollistaa vapauden kaikille Syyrian kansoille. Tule siis paikalle osoittamaan, ettei Afrin eikä Rojavan alue, kamppaile yksin!
