FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE CAMPAIGN Target Souda Base For Palestine

The struggle of the Palestinian people against occupation and colonialism did not begin on October 7, 2023, but 105 years earlier. It includes 30 years of British colonial rule and 75 years of Zionist occupation marked by oppression and injustice, apartheid policies, total isolation from the international community, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. The response of the Palestinian resistance was to unite its forces into a single front of attack, targeting Israeli military installations and capturing hostages as a means of pressure for the liberation of Palestinian prisoners, whether incarcerated or abducted.

Since then began the upgraded phase of genocide unleashed by the Israeli occupation in full cooperation with NATO, the EU, and the global community. “Collective punishment", settlement expansion, and thousands of arbitrary arrests with torture and the detention of minors gave way to targeted attacks on civilians, the complete leveling of cities, the use of banned or disputed weapons, and more. At the same time, artificial famine was imposed with a total border blockade from March 2025, and, together with its fellow colonial murderers, the USA, institutionalized death traps disguised as humanitarian aid under the name Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The culmination is Israel’s “final solution” plan: to displace Palestinians into a closed zone in the south, in Rafah, hypocritically presenting a so-called “humanitarian city”, in reality, a concentration camp, even more sophisticated than those of the Nazis. The colonial construct of Israel seeks to conceal these crimes behind an international propaganda campaign, with states as accomplices and systemic media as its protagonists, which instantly adopted the rhetoric of a supposed “right to self-defense” and a “war on terror.” Yet it is increasingly revealed as nothing more than the long arm of Western imperialism, charged with implementing the joint expansionist projects of the US–NATO–EU in the Middle East.

The Greek state aligned itself with the Zionists from the outset, while promoting the penetration of massive Israeli capital into the Greek real estate market, the domestic tourism sector, and the arms industry, aiming for a strong alliance in its perennial rivalry with Turkey. At the same time, it acts as a willing broker and peddler, pushing Israeli technologies and weapons systems to the EU, which is dramatically increasing defense expenditures under the generalized climate of anxiety caused by the escalation of military aggression worldwide. Moreover, because of its strategic location, Crete has evolved—from being a NATO and US outpost and launchpad in all their recent regional wars—into an “energy battery” feeding Eurasian states, while also serving as a neo-colony enslaved to the tourism industry. Meanwhile, the Greek state reinforces Zionist propaganda by invoking the dogma of supposed antisemitism, and under the pretext of the anti-racism law persecutes activists who escalate their speech and actions across the country. Yet humanity has not been cowed by this terror.

Here in Crete, after two years of determined struggle against this genocide, we have decided to act in coordinated fashion from all the island’s cities, and together with comrades in solidarity across the country, to target the enemy that stains its soil: the Souda military base. Its very existence and its use for supplying the Israeli war machine make us literally complicit in this genocide, while placing the safety of the local community and its broader ecosystem in direct danger. Thus, on 17 October 2025, we join our voices in a Cretan march in Chania, and on 18 October in a nationwide mobilization against the Souda military base ase and against the participation of the Greek state in the genocide of the Palestinian People. Crete, a timeless symbol of struggles, will be called to become one more tile in the mosaic of the global movement of internationalist solidarity with the Palestinian people. A movement that, through initiatives such as BDS, Palestine Action, the Global Sumud Flotilla, and others, seeks to build a popular bulwark against the designs of the butchers of today’s world.

The resisting Palestinian people raise alone the banner of human dignity against the Zionists and their accomplices. Internationalist solidarity is the only path against the vision of total neoliberalism, which is condensed in its rawest form in Palestine. From slingshots to rockets, we support whatever tools the resistance chooses to strike the hyper-armed enemy, for it embodies the essence of resistance to the entire fascist capitalist complex, one that may at this moment be waging military assault in Gaza, but which we know is targeting the lives of us all. It is our duty to fight our own local battles: against the bases of death, against the blocs of interests, against the invasion of capital into our lives and our environment, against the devaluation of our lives, against fascism in all its disguises. And of course against this merciless slaughter of the Palestinian People, for the enemy is the same everywhere.

We massively support the mobilizations and solidarity initiatives against the Souda Base and the participation of the Greek State in the genocide taking place in Palestine. Financial support is essential for us in order to achieve the political goal, to be organizationally prepared (transportation, outreach, etc.), and to ensure medical and legal coverage for those who will participate in the mobilizations.
