Today, Friday May 16th, the trial of the anarchist comrade Andreas F. begun in Athens, Greece. Andreas F. was arrested on April 26 2024 in Patras, when units from the state security and antiterrorist forces of the greek police stormed his apartment. He was charged for allegedly participating in a group called "Revenge Coalition", which had carried out several actions in the previous year, and he was preventively jailed under the greek antiterrorist act.
Andreas has made clear from the very beginning that he is not acquainted to any of the people charged with participating in "Revenge Coalition", and that he has no involvement whatsoever to the actions of the group. The only "evidence" against him is two copies of communiqués from actions by "Revenge Coalition", which were saved to his digital media after the communiqués were already published by the group.
The greek state targeting Andreas F. with fake accusations is not accidental. Comrade Andreas F. has participated in social struggles and contributed to various initiatives and political structures of the anarchist movement in Greece for many years. He has been an active part of local and international efforts to resist the state and capitalist atrocities, such as militarism, racism, the class society. Our paths have crossed in some of the these struggles and we share the common idea of a world emancipated from state-capitalist violence. By imprisoning and charging Andreas F., the repressive forces of the greek state are trying to intimidate, discipline, and repress not only him but all comrades struggling against the exploitation and assimilation of our lives by state and capital.
We leave no one behind in the battle between the culture of exploitation and the thirst for freedom! We stand in solidarity with Andreas F. and with all oppressed comrades in our common struggle for social emancipation and against state and capital.
